2011 TDL 12 Hour Drumathon
The West Fork High School Tiger Drumline will be holding our second Tiger Drumline Drumathon on April 30th! This year we will again be having a 12 HOUR rehearsal to start the 2011 – 2012 marching season, and we want you to get involved! We are trying to raise money to pay for our much needed new percussion equipment, and our goal is $6,000! We would like you to sponsor at least one member of the 2011-2012 Tiger Drumline by donating money for every hour that these kids are going to be playing. Any amount will help! If you donate $3.00 an hour, that is $36.00 that we can use to help pay for our new equipment! The rehearsal is open to the public, so feel free to come and check on the progress! The rehearsal will be lead by the TDL Coordinator, and the TDL Command Staff. This should be a lot of fun, and with your support, it will help us get the new equipment that we need!
If you would like to make a donation, you can either contact the West Fork Band office, by calling 839-2420 Ext: 4035, or by sending an email to the Director or Percussion Coordinator from the staff directory above.
Here are the details and the rules…
The Drumathon will start at 8:00 AM Saturday, April 30th. Students will eat before the event, so we should be good on food and energy!
We will have snacks and drinks available for the students to refuel through the rehearsal.
We will have a 30 minute break for lunch and diner that night. Food will be provided for the students, so no one has to leave.
After the meal, more drumming until 8:00 PM. At this time, the second TDL Drumathon is finished! We'll pack up our stuff, and drag ourselves into our respective beds.
We will take 15 minute breaks every 2 hours to allow the students time to use the restroom, sit down, and stretch their fingers, but other than those breaks and the meal times, constant drumming and/or instruction will be taking place!

3:00 PM Rehearsal Continues (stop jogging and come drum…)

5:45 PM Rehearsal Continues (this is the long stretch)
8:00 PM The Second TDL Drumathon is OVER!!! PUT AWAY DRUMS, and go home!!
So as you can see, this will be rather lengthy, but it should also be a lot of fun. The rehearsal will be way lower key than any other drumline rehearsal, and I’ll be so tired I’ll probably make loads of stupid comments that don’t make any sense. Seriously though, this should be a good bonding experience for all of us, not only that, we get to drum for A WHOLE DAY, and… WE GET PAID FOR IT!!! I’m excited already, and I’m going to increase my coffee intake to better be able to handle the event… As you should be able to guess from everything above, you can not leave the band room at any time! We may go outside Saturday afternoon and play for awhile, but absolutely no leaving!
